Slipper Camp: Bloodline/Family

My next online writing Slipper Camp – Bloodline – begins on the day after Father’s Day, June 21st. And in honor of the holiday, this Slipper Camp will feature prompts about Fathers and Daughters as well as Mothers and Sons. I was inspired by this quote: ‘Walking, I am listening to a deeper way. Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me. Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands’- Linda Hogan.

We will be writing about our ancestors and our current family. This hits home for me, a daughter of the Holocaust whose family perished in the camps. As always, you can stay home and write in your pjs and slippers. As always, if you enroll you will receive 3 prompts a day on Bloodline/Family (every other day) for 20 days. As always, you will write 1,000 words on a prompt of your choosing and send it to me every other day.

Slipper Camp: Mothers and Daughters

Due to low attendance, I’ve decided to cancel Grandmas & Grandkids this year and offer Mothers and Daughters in honor of Mother’s Day coming up.

The Fourth Annual Mothers and Daughters Slipper Camp starts on the day after Mother’s Day (May 10th) and ends May 28th. Many mothers and daughters have taken this Slipper Camp together and loved it.

I was inspired to create this Slipper Camp when I studied this photo of my mother and me. At three months old I’m already trying to crawl out of her arms. Eager to see the world. Unwilling to be contained. My mother smiles beatifically, unaware of the restless soul in her arms…

We’ll be writing about ourselves, our mothers and/or mother figures, our daughters-biological or chosen – nieces, goddaughters, stepdaughters or any young woman we mentor. We’ll be exploring the relationship between women of different generations.

Slipper Camp Grandmas and Grandkids starts May 3rd/Ends May 21st. You don’t have be a grandmother to take this online writing course.

This is for grandkids who are close to their grandmas and those who’ve lost them. For grandmas who are close to their grandkids and those who aren’t. It’s for anyone who wants to write about that bond – the good, the bad, the ordinary.

Slipper Camp will be the same format as always: ten writers will receive three illustrated prompts about grandmothers and grandkids every OTHER morning for 20 days along with daily writing tips and coaching suggestions. If you join you will send me 1,000 words by midnight every other day.

FREEDOM 2020 will be my next online writing Slipper Camp (Starts August 3rd, ends 20 days later.)

FREEDOM. We’ll be writing at a heightened time, a critical time in our lives and the life of this country and the world. We’ll be writing about freedoms we’ve lost and those we still celebrate; freedoms that are denied to us or to others; our personal journeys from slavery to freedom or vice versa; times we’ve longed for freedom for ourselves and others; times we’ve fought for freedom and won or lost.

FREEDOM. There’s so much to write about. Especially now!!

Slipper Camp will be the same format as always – 10 writers will receive 3 illustrated prompts about FREEDOM every OTHER morning for 20 days along with daily writing tips and coaching suggestions.

On June 22, 2020 LOVE will be the subject of the next online Writing Slipper Camp. I hope you will be 1 of 10 writers who will receive 3 illustrated prompts about LOVE every OTHER morning for 20 days, along with daily writing tips and coaching suggestions. You will be writing 1,000 words (2 pages) on 1 of the 3 daily prompts and sending it to me by midnight every OTHER day.
